DU Chat Saturday, June, 14, 2008

Welcome to join our weekly
Saturday Chatroom, June, 14, 2008, at 4pm GMT (or 10am CST, or 9am MST, or 6pm Ukraine time).
This Saturday chatroom we open the discussion about “Restaurants in Ukraine".
Restaurant business in Ukraine has developed a lot since the end of Soviet times.
Ukraine can be proud of a broad chain of canteens, cafes and restaurants  and the quality of dishes served there.
The team of Discover Ukraine will share with you funny stories and interesting experiences we had at Ukrainian restaurants.
You are welcome to share your memories and have two hours of laugh and joy with us.
Also we will discuss the problems of opening restaurants and cafes in Ukraine and Ukrainian winery.
Ukrainian wines are world-famous and comparatively cheap. Crimea has the largest grape raising area
(about 63,000 hectares), and the wines from this region are considered the best quality. Wine-making in Ukraine has a long
history. The Massandra winery, in Crimea, was built in the 1890s to supply Tsar Nicholas II near his summer palace. Dessert
red, white and pink wines are a specialty of the region.
Ukrainian wine is exported to Russia and European countries. It’s the best doctor from all diseases, because it cures body
and soul. We invite our guests to try some wine with us.

Here are the famous quotations about food:
Rice is born in water and must die in wine (Italian Proverb)

There is one thing more exasperating than a wife who can cook and won't, and that's a wife who can't cook and will
(Robert Frost)

Everything I eat has been proved by some doctor or other to be a deadly poison, and everything I don't eat has been
proved to be indispensable for life.  But I go marching on (George Bernard Shaw)

I will not eat oysters. I want my food dead - not sick, not wounded - dead (Woody Allen)

Join us and enjoy online Ukrainian communication.
