About DU

To fly or not to fly?

In many Ukrainian local city airports, including the Kiev Boryspil airport (KBP), flights are being canceled because of bad weather conditions. Thick fogs that have been very frequent this winter, are  not the only reason to this. Because of lack of equipment and insufficient technologies, maintenance of runways is done  poorly. Thousands of passengers become victims of poor management of the local airports, where some passengers have to wait for 2-3 days to have the runway cleaned from ice or snow.

If you are planning a trip to Ukraine this winter, it is recommended to avoid taking domestic flights between cities. Thankfully, the railroad transport works well no matter what the weather is like, and passengers are recommended to travel by trains instead of taking domestic flights between cities in Ukraine.
