The Japanese drummers “Tawoo” opened the festival which started in September and will last till the end of November. The festival named “The month of Japanese culture in Ukraine” was established two years ago and now it has become the traditional event every year. It's goal is to represent both classical and modern Japanese culture to Ukrainian society.
During this time about 40 events are carried out in the frame of the festival. Seven cities of Ukraine participate in this event. There are Kharkov, Odessa, Chernigov, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Donetsk and Kiev. The festival of Japanese culture is holding by the embassy of Japan in Ukraine.
The program of the festival includes the following events:
Japanese speech contest, musical seminar “Group BAKK Japan”, the concert of Japanese music, master classes of Japanese traditional dancing, photo exhibition called “ The moments of childhood: 60 years after the War in Japan”, the exhibition of calligraphy by Ryuseki Morimoto and engraving by Fuss Sakamoto, the demonstration of martial arts (aikido, iaido, judo), the concert of the Japanese drums and folk songs, the demonstration of Ikenobo Ikebana, Haiku lessons and Haiku contest, Kendo and Go game championships for cup of Ambassador of Japan.
