This year the German Film Festival is one of the biggest events in Ukraine. The films are coming to Kyiv and other major Ukrainian cities
for the first time and represent a variety of genres. The program of the festival includes a big selection of movies which have gained wide popularity in German movie theaters over the last twelve month - documentary films, movies which collected large audiences, and also the collection of short films, are going to become open for Ukrainian spectators.
On the program are the ‘The Wild Life’, a very well-reviewed feature film about the 1968 youth rebellions in Munich; plus Fayt Helmer’s ‘Absurdistan’; ‘Everything Goes According to Plan’, directed by Franziska Meletzky; ‘On the Far Side of Paradise’ by Fatiha Akina; and Andreas Dresden’s ‘Cloud 9’.
The German Film Festival is a part of the Week of German culture project, which is held in Ukraine during September-October, 2008 under the guidance of The Embassy of Germany and Goethe-Institute Ukraine.
