The tradition to have a horseshoe nailed above the doors of the house is international. In ancient times people of different nationalities
believed that a horseshoe brings a good luck. In some countries people believed that it keeps witches away. Horseshoes are made of iron and the strength of the iron was thought to protect from evil. The position of the horseshoe itself is very important. It must point upwards like a cup so that the luck cannot fall out.
Well, I guess you know this tradition. And what about Ukrainian traditions,believes and folklore sayings? Do you know something about them?
Here, you will find weather folklore sayings to help you forecast weather with a funny touch. Actually towns-dwellers don’t believe in all this, but if you visit Ukrainian villages and demonstrate you knowledge of the folklore sayings to the villagers… Well, you will be regarded the smartest foreigner that ever visited our country!
