Name three things you love doing –  Sharing some wine or dinner and good conversation with a close friend, exploring new places, hiking in a forest or walking along a quiet sea shore, learning something new and fascinating, teasing bears (yes, that’s five… but I’m a journalist – I don’t do math).

Name three things which you hate – I prefer not to use the word “hate” or to think of things in those terms.  But as a professional writer, I am frustrated or disappointed to read something that is published with poor writing and avoidable mistakes.  I also dislike inconsiderate or rude people, and sitting in traffic.  Oh, I almost forgot… I DON’T LIKE BEARS!

How would your friends characterize you in three words? – I actually did a little poll and asked them!  The most common results were: kind, generous, sincere and open. I guess that if this is how my friends see me, then I must be doing something right (at least most of the time).  One friend insisted that I remember to add, “world’s best kisser.”

What can make you feel happy? – Being in the company of a person I really like, being out in nature, writing a really good article, poem or (soon) book, having a very good and deep meditation, seeing a bear fall out of a tree.
How would you characterize Ukraine and Ukrainians in three words? -  Genuine, intriguing, wonderful (and there are very few bears).

Have you ever visited Ukraine? – Yes.  And I now live in Ukraine most of the time.
What would be your main interest in Ukraine if you were planning a visit to this country? –  To see, understand and write about the country and the people, especially in villages and rural areas away from cities.  I’d like to experience places in Ukraine that most foreigners never see.  I would like to help send the last of the bears to Russia.
